Throughout our lives, many of us find ourselves struggling with episodes of painful or distressing emotional experiences at one point or another. These episodes can be acute or chronic in nature, and can cause much dysfunction and disruption in one’s life. They can make us feel depressed, anxious, empty, or alone, but after struggling with feelings like this for months or even years, it becomes more and more challenging to understand our symptoms and the true effects they have on our well-being.

My mission is to help those in the community in need by providing best practice mental health services to my patients to help promote personal growth, stability, and self satisfaction. Psychology has been a long-time passion of mine. I find the mind to be a very unique puzzle that at times is hard to grasp and understand. It is this passion and the passion to help others that drives me to help individuals in need understand the brain and its workings.

It is my goal to help these individuals understand their own minds by helping patients build awareness into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and help them find their true identity and meaning in life to promote change in order to improve daily functioning. I offer a nonjudgmental, safe, person-centered, and empathic environment where patients can speak openly to uncover the root of their symptoms. This approach has helped my previous patients achieve a state of continuous well-being by identifying specific therapeutic goals that will improve and change maladaptive cognitions.

I have worked in various settings including education, law enforcement, and parks and recreation where the majority of my work surrounded helping and teaching children and adolescents. My previous work consisted of five years working for the elementary and middle schools of Schaumburg School District 54 where I was a Crisis Intervention Specialist, as well as a Psychotherapist at Ramos and Associates Behavioral Health Clinic. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Chicago, and am a National Board-Certified Counselor, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I have also recently teamed up with my therapeutic partner Harvey who is my Golden doodle and a certified therapy dog who helps me provide Animal-Assisted Intervention Therapy to my patients.

Throughout my academic and professional journey I have adapted an eclectic approach to therapy where I draw from several different treatment modalities, such as CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Existential-Humanist, Attachment, and ACT to find the best fit treatment for my patients. I have experience working with a wide variety of ages (ages 10 to 65 years old), socio-economic class, and cultural backgrounds dealing with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, trauma, OCD, ADHD, behavioral disorders and other issues (i.e. individuals with life-altering and/or terminal illnesses). I very much look forward to professionally engaging with each of my patients’ internal world while walking alongside them on
their journey to wellness.
