Peonita specializes in treating addiction, anxiety base disorders and post-traumatic stress disorders with couples, families and adolescents.
Peonita’s practice is centered on motivating clients to access a level of personal and spiritual freedom to live a life of wholeness and fulfillment.
Peonita has experience in facilitating group therapy with families struggling with addiction and with single parents developing parenting skills. She also has experience with women dealing with rape, molestation and incest.
In addition Peonita is an ordained minister and has over 10 years of pastoral counseling experience and training in women spiritual formation and leadership.
She has facilitated many groups in spiritual leadership and gender equality in the church.
Peonita is a true integrationist and use Bowen Family System and Adlerian treatment modalities. Peonita also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused approaches to aid clients in unlocking truths behind their presenting symptoms.
Her spiritual orientation is tapping into the grace of God by scriptural application to experience emotional healing. Peonita is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a bachelor’s degree in theology and a focus on family ministry.
She is also a graduate of Adler’s School of Professional Psychology with a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator of pre-marital counseling.
She is in the process of completing her clinical training in the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology program at Adler School of Professional Psychology. Peonita is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a member of the American Psychological Association.
