Past and future

Live today to the future that you want to create. But don't live in the future. Live today - here and now in the present.

We recommend that you begin by monitoring how often you deal with issues relating to your past and your future. Download and print Keeping a log of your life. It contains a simple chart on which to record how often you do something to let go of your past and to prepare for your future etc.

Mindfulness

How are my actions, my behaviors, influencing my life? Have they become unconscious, spontaneous, and automatic – as if we are not even there any more? Don't try for this very second to change them. Just notice them, really notice them as if you are there watching yourself, seeing what you are doing and not doing. No, don't drive yourself crazy by trying to do this all the time, just do this exercise occasionally for a few minutes at a time and try and notice what you are doing, and not doing.

Now, just notice in the same way, what are your beliefs, how do you make sense of the world and how do you make things mean something? How has the way you see the world become stagnate and as automatic as how you brush your teeth or walk a certain way? Maybe it's time to become aware of the way you see things and consider another possibility.

Taking an honest, real look at who you really are, who you have become, who you chose to be, now, is a useful step to moving forward in your life.

What emotions are you running from? Not just what emotions are you having, but what emotions are hiding from?

Become aware of what is going one, within you and around you, now, this moment, start now.

What should I do next?
