Business counseling

This can involve organizational / business psychology business concerns such as:

  • business design and development
  • team building
  • conflict resolution
  • life coaching
  • mediation
  • issues of stress or workplace change.

We provide specialized business consultations regarding business external development and internal company dynamics.

'How to succeed in business' is not just a cliché from one of an endless number of business books but a question and a starting point in what creates success in business and in your life as a whole.

The questions to start with might be "what did you want to be, such a long long time ago", "what have you become" and "what do you want now".

The next question you need to ask is "What do you need to do to bring fulfillment in your work and your home now and in the future?"

"What is preventing you and your business from really moving forward?" "Is the problem really just about cash flow or the creativity to see how to do things more efficiently, create a new perspective or just find a better way to communicate?"

"Do you know what the real sales game is and how to dramatically improve your sales figures?" "Is marketing hitting your best population in the way you really need it to do?"

"Is there tension, prejudice, ill-feeling, bias, or just mis-communication at work between you and your employees?" "Do you have troubled employees that might be great at their job but are difficult to work with?" "What is the next step for you and for your business now?"

Business is not about the money, but the creativity, vision, purpose, connections, inspiration from within the company and from the clients. A business has to be very creative and flexible and alive to cater for the changing needs of clients, the society as a whole and the environment.

If a business is planned well and the structures and procedures are in place, then a lot of problems are avoided. Jobs can be automated or performed by any employee who has undergone the training, rather than having all the responsibility and stress being placed on the shoulders of those starting the business.

Often we need to think in a different way and be more creative. For example, sometimes a product can have applications in other fields which are quite outside the area of expertise of those in the business. It takes someone with a broader perspective to uncover new opportunities. Sometimes we get locked into thinking about the same old problem in the same old way. Thus real creativity in business is not just matter of taking on younger supposedly more creative staff, but a matter of changing the psychology of those in the company. This is where we can help.

In today's climate our natural tendency is to circle the wagons, tighten up and try to only maintain our core focus. But what leads to success in difficult times is often the opposite. For example, learning to think inductively – to look at different ways to expand our business while developing both the people within the company and our connections and resources outside the company – is what is really needed. Just like a disfunctional famly, a struggling business often seeks to protect what it is already doing instead of finding new ways to operate that are more productive for the company. Once the brainstorming has occurred, that is when deductive thinking is required – creating practical steps to implement the new goals uncovered by the brainstorming. We can help train your staff to think both inductively and deductively so you can achieve real success.

We would start by having you look at what are your real resources and how you can develop those. We would help you build on what has worked in the past and tackle new ways to operate your business. It is critical to look at what brings your staff fulfillment in their work so that you can capitalise on that.
